WV DAVE

WV DAVE (Database Application for Vital Events) is the system that West Virginia uses for all electronic registration of vital events that occur in the state.

Vital event data reported to the West Virginia Health Statistics Center's Office of Vital Records through the WV DAVE System is not a HIPAA covered Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) transaction; it is public health data.  The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services excepts public health and governmental functions from the application of HIPAA. If you have not completed the New User Enrollment in WV DAVE, please do so on the WV DAVE website. This is the site where you will also log in and enter information.
