This page provides information about restrictions on data use, applying for data access, and requesting statistics.

For Media Inquiries

If desired statistics are not available within the Most Requested Statistics, Vital Statistics, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, or Publications pages, please contact the West Virginia Department of Health staff within the Office of Communications at DHCommunications@wv.gov.

For Statistical Request

To make a request for statistics not found under Most Requested Statistics, Vital Statistics, Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, or Publications, please complete the Data Request Form.

For Researchers

Restricted use data files may be provided to researchers who enter a data use agreement. Because the data contain confidential information, we have an obligation to prevent accidental or willful disclosure of information that may be used to identify a person. The data use agreement helps ensure the data are used for research and statistical purposes to protect against the disclosure of confidential information. Researchers should email dhhrvitaldata@wv.gov for more information.
