Bureau for Behavioral HealthThe mission of the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources' Bureau for Behavioral Health is to ensure that positive meaningful opportunities are available for people with mental illness, substance abuse, intellectual and  developmental disabilities and those at risk. We provide support for individuals, families, and communities in assisting persons to achieve their potential and to gain greater control over the direction of their future.  The Bureau recognizes the invaluable knowledge and experiences the consumers and families provide in helping to develop and improve services in West Virginia. We envision a community that values and respects people and is responsive to their individual needs, wants and desires for the enrichment of their lives. We believe in integrity-based leadership that is flexible enough to respond to change that is guided by individuals, families, and communities.
