The Office of Inspector General, by impartial evaluation, investigation and reporting, seeks to ensure the integrity of department programs and operations including the fair, accurate and nondiscriminatory delivery of benefits and services to qualified state residents. The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is dedicated to combating and eliminating fraud, waste and abuse in West Virginia’s health care and benefit services. Our dedicated employees work diligently to ensure patient safety and compliance from West Virginia healthcare providers. A statewide team of investigators, reviewers, surveyors and hearing officers work tirelessly to ensure the OIG succeeds in protecting vulnerable citizens and the integrity of department programs and services.
