Tobacco use remains the leading cause of preventable death and disease in the United States, killing more than 480,000 Americans each year. In West Virginia alone, 4,300 adults die from smoking-related illnesses each year.
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR) will host a media event on Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center featuring Amanda in the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC)
Tips From Former Smokers® campaign.
Amanda will share her story of how smoking impacted her pregnancy and how she managed to quit.
One-on-one media interviews will be offered following the event.
