In recognition of Veterans Day, William R. Sharpe, Jr. Hospital is joining the nation in celebrating and honoring the patriots who have served and sacrificed for the United States of America. On November 10, 2023, Sharpe Hospital will recognize patients and staff who are veterans at the hospital with a special reading. Staff will also present certificates to veterans at the hospital throughout the day thanking them for their service.
In addition, Sharpe Hospital collaborated with local business Hometown Outfitters, which donated shirts for patients who are veterans at Sharpe Hospital.
“The bravery of veterans at Sharpe Hospital does not go unnoticed or unappreciated,” said Pat Ryan, CEO of Sharpe Hospital. “Our staff are proud to shine a light on those who served our country in the most selfless way possible, and we appreciate donations from partners like Hometown Outfitters.”
The event is made possible by Sharpe leadership and patient ambassadors.
“All of our patients are valued and appreciated, and today we recognize our veterans for the sacrifices they have made to allow us the freedoms we have today,” said Jaimee Denney, Sharpe employee and patient ambassador.
Sharpe employee and patient ambassador Crystle Cartagena added, “I have enjoyed working at Sharpe Hospital for nearly eight years. Patients are our first priority, and we are grateful for the opportunity to recognize the veterans and their families.”
