What: Public Health Impact Task Force Meeting

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Bureau for Public Health, will hold a meeting of the Public Health Impact Task Force (PHITF) on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at the Oglebay Resort and Conference Center in Wheeling, WV.
The meeting will include opening remarks by Andy McKenzie, Mayor of Wheeling, WV; a presentation on public health changes in Ohio; an update on PHIT survey and website development; and reports from each of the newly formed workgroups: Better Health, Better Quality, Affordable Public Health and Community Engagement. A full agenda is attached.
PHITF meetings are open to the public and include a public comment period.
Dr. Rahul Gupta, State Health Officer and Commissioner for the Bureau for Public Health, commissioned the PHITF with membership comprising of representatives from BPH, local health departments, private and public partner organizations, and policy makers. The goal of the task force is to redefine the mission of public health in West Virginia by making recommendations to define structural and organizational changes required to revolutionize the public health system.
