Be the Missing Piece is the 2025 National Adoption Month theme for the West Virginia Department of Human Services (DoHS). The message centers on connection — like a puzzle, every child deserves a complete picture of family, belonging, and support. Many children in foster care are waiting for that final “piece” that brings stability, love, and permanency into their lives.
How to Use this Toolkit:
- This toolkit provides ready-to-use social media content and graphics to help raise awareness during National Adoption Month in November. Share these messages on your organization’s Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, or X (Twitter) accounts to celebrate adoption, highlight West Virginia families, and encourage community involvement.

DoHS provides ongoing support for foster parents, adoptive parents, and kinship caregivers through initiatives like the West Virginia Kids Thrive Collaborative, which offers parenting tips, important dates, and tools to strengthen family bonds and support youth success.
