Did you know that preventable injuries/accidents are the fourth leading cause of death in both West Virginia and the United States? In 2016, West Virginia had around 2,200 accidental deaths.

Violence and injuries affect everyone, regardless of age, race, or economic status and are so common that we often accept them as part of life. But they can be prevented, and their consequences reduced.

The West Virginia Violence and Injury Prevention Program (WVVIPP) is committed to the health and safety of residents in the state.
