The West Virginia Violence and Injury Prevention Program (WVVIPP) is implementing an injury and violence surveillance quality improvement initiative that will investigate potential analyses, actions and communications aimed at improving the accessibility and use, the quality, and the operability of all injury-and violence-related datasets in the state.
This initiative will be accomplished by convening a standing working group, the West Virginia Injury Surveillance Quality Improvement Working Group (WV ISQIWG), and charging the Working Group with the tasks of identifying and assessing existing injury and violence relevant datasets, identifying and prioritizing potential investigations and analyses of injury and violence surveillance datasets and systems, conducting and reporting on high priority investigations/analyses, recommending action plans and communication efforts, and evaluating the extent to which this Working Group and its activities lead to improvements in injury and violence surveillance accessibility and use, quality, and operability in West Virginia.
