Prevention Resources - Child Abuse & Neglect

Overview

According to The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, child maltreatment includes all types of abuse and neglect of a child under the age of 18 by a parent, caregiver, or another person in custodial role, like a parent, guardian, sports coach, or teacher. There are four common types of maltreatment:

  • Physical Abuse
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Emotional Abuse
  • Neglect

Educational Resources

The WVHVP connects families with resources and education that provide education and support. The program supports pregnant women and all children from birth to five.

Report Abuse and Neglect
