Department of Human Services

Welcome

The West Virginia Department of Human Services promotes a thriving and healthy West Virginia through providing access to critical health care, essential social services and benefits, and trusted information, with a special emphasis on vulnerable populations.

As Cabinet Secretary for the West Virginia Department of Human Services, my focus is on empowering West Virginians to thrive and lead healthy, safe, and independent lives. By implementing a central point for resources, systems, and processes, this can lead to more comprehensive solutions for the people of West Virginia and improve their quality of life.

Under the guidance of Governor Jim Justice, I aim to strengthen safety net programs, expand access to social services, and promote workforce development initiatives to help individuals and families in West Virginia become self-sufficient.
