Meeting to Discuss WV Child Welfare Reform Efforts

Casey Family Programs will host a meeting October 7-8, 2015 recognizing the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources’ (DHHR) achievements in child welfare.
Kicking off the two-day conference is First Lady Joanne Jaeger Tomblin, who will provide opening remarks at 9:00 a.m. Following, DHHR Cabinet Secretary Karen L. Bowling will discuss the work of the Three Branch Institute on Child Social and Emotional Well-being.
The goal of the meeting is to discuss advancements of DHHR’s Three Branch Institute and celebrate the phase one launch of Safe at Home West Virginia. The meeting also will address trauma, psychotropic medication, community based systems of care and other issues surrounding child welfare in West Virginia.
