Our Mission

Through partnerships and collaboration, support public health and medical systems to prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate emergencies and threats to our health 

We do this by... 
  • Assuring an integrated and collaborative healthcare system that can accurately identify and effectively respond to emergent health threats
  • Strengthening the public health system by working with federal, state, and local organizations to prepare for response to threats and emergencies
  • Supporting coordinated, collaborative community response systems that are realistic and adequately tested
  • Establishing a culture for continuing performance measurement and improvements
  • Contributing to the development of a highly-qualified workforce dedicated to protecting the public’s health
  • Allocating and distributing targeted funding for training and equipping the healthcare response system
