Always Ready for Kids Program Recognition Process
Always Ready for Kids Program Recognition process is as follows:
- Each interested hospital will complete the application and Always Ready for Kids (ARK) document indicating everything is in place to schedule an ARK site evaluation. This completed document should be e-mailed to Vicki Hildreth, EMSC Project Director, Sherry Rockewell. or via facsimile at (304) 558-8379. If the document is faxed, it is helpful to send an e-mail alerting Sherry Rockwell.
- After receipt of the application and document, the EMS for Children Program will review to ensure that all criteria are met.
- If your facility meets these criteria, EMSC Coordinator will coordinate a site visit with the ARK Evaluation Team and your Hospital. Please understand this is not a typical site visit that hospitals are accustomed. It is a Pediatrician, two nurses, and the EMSC Coordinator that evaluate your facility. The document that you complete is what will be used to evaluate your facility.
- If by chance a facility does not meet, The EMSC Coordinator will send an e-mail to the hospital contact person detailing any issues that exist.
As a result of your hospital having completed the National Pediatric Readiness Project, you have access to an online readiness toolkit that will help you address policy, procedural or protocol issues you may have. It contains some very useful information in preparing for ARK recognition.
