WEST VIRGINIA MEDICAID PROGRAM
STATE PLAN AMENDMENT 22-0013
REGARDING
COMMUNITY-BASED MOBILE CRISIS INTERVENTION SERVICES
Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1396a(a)(13)(1997) and 42 C.F.R. §447.205, the Department of Health and Human Resources (“Department”), Bureau for Medical Services (“BMS”) provides notice of the filing of a State Plan Amendment (SPA), identified as SPA 22-0013, regarding the Medicaid Community-Based Mobile Crisis Intervention Services program.
The SPA, if approved, provides coverage for Mobile Crisis teams, who dispatch to community settings in order to provide individuals experiencing a suspected mental health or substance-use related emergency with timely intensive supports, stabilization, and time-limited rehabilitation intervention services intended to achieve crisis symptom reduction.
This SPA will be effective January 1, 2023, pending Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approval. The inclusion of the Mobile Crisis program would increase costs in Federal Fiscal Year 2023 by approximately $3,836,323.
This public notice period will be effective from June 10, 2022 to July 11, 2022.
