STATE PLAN AMENDMENT 22-0009
REGARDING
PERSONAL CARE SERVICES
Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1396a(a)(13)(1997) and 42 C.F.R. §447.205, the Department of Health and Human Resources (“Department”), Bureau for Medical Services (“BMS”) provides notice of the filing of a state plan amendment (SPA), identified as SPA 22-0009, regarding Medicaid rates for Personal Care Services.
During the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), rates for personal care were temporarily increased by fifty (50) percent. The temporary increase ends March 31, 2022. SPA 22-0009 proposes to increase the pre-PHE rates for Personal Care Services by five (5) percent.
This SPA will be effective April 1, 2022, pending CMS approval. The change would increase costs in Federal Fiscal Year 2022 by $1,019,170.67 and increase costs in Federal Fiscal Year 2023 by $2,820,430.43.
The public notice period will be in effect between March 23, 2022, and April 22, 2022.
