The week of December 25, 2017, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR), Bureau for Medical Services (BMS) began mailing Medicaid members a copy of their new West Virginia Medical ID card. Although the card looks a little different than the blue card members are used to receiving, there has been no change to the way Medicaid members access medical benefits.
In the future, instead of receiving the blue West Virginia Medical ID card once a year, the Medical ID card will be included on the last page of Medicaid approval notices.
