​Per SB 1014 (2017, First Special Session) and associated rules, West Virginia Medicaid has updated its provider enrollment files to switch the designaton for all currently enrolled Physician Assistants (PA) from Ordering/Referring/Prescribing (ORP) to Rendering. The Managed Care Organizations will update their files as well. No action is required on the part of the provider.
Physician Assistants who are not currently enrolled as part of a physician group, or who are also providing services independently from the physicians group they are employed by, may enroll as a Rendering provider independent of a provider group. Physician Asistants will continue to submit a Practice Agreement as part of West Virginia Medicaid enrollment.
