West Virginia Medicaid will follow Medicare’s guidance and open HCPCS code U0001 and U0002 for healthcare providers who need to test members for Coronavirus using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) 2019 Novel Coronavirus Real Time RT-PCR Diagnostic Test Panel or for non-CDC laboratory tests for SARS-CoV-2/2019-nCoV (COVID-19). These codes will be active April 1, 2020 for dates of service on or after February 4, 2020. The full press release from CMS can be found here:
