Division of Early Child Care and Education plans a public hearing

The WV Department of Human Services, Bureau for Family Assistance is conducting a public hearing on the proposed Child Care and Development Block Grant, State Plan for Federal fiscal years 2025 - 2027.

The United States Department of Health and Human Services requires public input as a condition of funding.  Public insight gathered from the meetings will help guide expenditures for the approximately $72 million received. The funds received help provide support to improve the affordability, availability, and quality of child care services in West Virginia.  Funding assists low-income families to cover the cost of child care, supports consumer education for selecting appropriate child care services and provides other key services, such as referral, available resources, necessary training, and technical assistance for child care providers.

The public Hearing will be held virtually on May 30, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The link for the virtual meeting will be posted on the BFA Early Care and Education website at https://dhhr.wv.gov/bfa/ece/policies/Pages/default.aspx.

The link will be available at 9:30 AM on May 30, 2024.

The Division will also accept public comments by email at ECEproviders@wv.gov through June 23, 2024 at 5:00 PM.
