Action for Healthy Kids (AFHK) is the only nonprofit organization specifically addressing the epidemic of overweight, undernourished and sedentary youth by focusing on changes in school. AFHK works in all 50 states and the district of Colombia to improve children's nutrition and increase physical activity, in order to improve their readiness to learn. West Virginia Action for Healthy Kids is the state chapter of the national organization Action for Healthy Kids. West Virginia State Nutrition Action Plan (SNAP) promotes consumption of fruits and vegetables through partnerships and collaborative interventions between the nutrition assistance programs and other related groups.
