By the end of 2021, West Virginia counties which accounted for 80% of fatal overdoses in 2020 will have hosted a free naloxone day.

More than four out of every five fatal overdoses in West Virginia in 2020 involved an opioid. Naloxone is a powerful and proven antidote for reversing opioid overdoses. 2021 marks the 50th year naloxone has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
