West Virginia Electronic Disease Surveillance System

West Virginia Electronic Disease Surveillance System
The State of West Virginia’s Electronic Disease Surveillance System (WVEDSS) is a web-based electronic reporting system that serves local and state public health departments and West Virginia hospitals. In the past, reportable diseases were reported by providers and laboratories to public health on paper forms by fax and mail.

This system provides electronic reporting of diseases. This system enhances disease surveillance, detection and response activities in West Virginia and minimizes the delays inherent in paper-based systems.

WVEDSS presently supports reporting of most infectious diseases.
