The federal COVID-19 public health emergency has ended. To that end, final payments for the Summer Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer (P-EBT) program were released in September 2023 by The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources (DHHR).

A one-time Summer P-EBT issuance of $120 was added to the existing WV P-EBT cards in either June or September 2023.

If the P-EBT card has been lost, a new card may be requested by calling 1-866-545-6502.

Eligible students for the 2022-2023 P-EBT benefit were those who -
•    attended a West Virginia school that participated in the National School Lunch Program
•    were actively enrolled in the 2022-2023 school year on May 15, 2023
•    and qualified for free or reduced-price meals
•    All students who attend a Community Eligibility Provision school and receive free or reduced-priced meals also qualified for P-EBT.

The WV P-EBT program was a shared initiative between WV DHHR and the West Virginia Department of Education’s Office of Child Nutrition. Visit the WV Department of Education P-EBT website for additional information.
