The Residential Licensing Unit licenses and approves Residential Mental Health Treatment Facilities, Pyschiatric Residential Treatment Facilities, Emergency Shelters, and Child Placing Agencies. The purpose of this Unit is to protect the health, safety and well-being of children receiving care in residential facilities and child placing agencies to regulate the the provision of out-of-home care for children. The Licensing Unit inspects, reviews and monitors facilities and agencies as well as providing technical assistance when needed.
