STATE PLAN AMENDMENT 22-0010
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SERVICES
Pursuant to 42 U.S.C. §1396a(a)(13)(1997) and 42 C.F.R. §447.205, the Department of Health and Human Resources (“Department”), Bureau for Medical Services (“BMS”) provides notice of the filing of a state plan amendment (SPA), identified as SPA 22-0010, regarding Medicaid rates for Behavioral Health Services.
During the COVID-19 public health emergency (PHE), rates for Behavioral Health Services were temporarily increased by seventy (70) percent. The temporary increase ends March 31, 2022. SPA 22-0010 proposes to increase the pre-PHE rates for Behavioral Health Services by five (5) percent. Targeted Case Management (TCM) services would also be subject to the five (5) percent increase from pre-PHE rates under this SPA.
This SPA will be effective April 1, 2022, pending CMS approval. The change would increase costs in Federal Fiscal Year 2022 by $878,210.11 and increase costs in Federal Fiscal Year 2023 by $2,430,339.30.
The public notice period will be in effect between March 23, 2022 and April 22, 2022.
