STATE PLAN AMENDMENT 21-008
REGARDING ADULT DENTAL SERVICES
Pursuant to 42 C.F.R. § 440.386, the Department of Health and Human Resources (“Department”), Bureau for Medical Services (BMS) provides notice of the filing of a state plan amendment (SPA), identified as SPA 21-008, with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), regarding the coverage of diagnostic, preventative and restorative dental services for adults age 21 and over. This coverage will exclude cosmetic services and will be limited to $1,000 each calendar year. Dental services will be covered in accordance with 42 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 440.100.
This SPA will be made effective on January 1, 2021. The expected federal fiscal impact for adding these adult dental services for federal fiscal year (FFY) 2021 is approximately $3,553,306. The expected federal fiscal impact for FFY 2022 is $3,410,503.
This Notice is intended to satisfy 42 CFR 440.386 and all other Federal and State notice requirements.
