As of November 1, 2024, a prior authorization for Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and other smoking cessation agents, will no longer be required for West Virginia Medicaid members. Healthcare providers are still encouraged to recommend enrollment in the Quit Line which provides coaching sessions and other types of support to members who are trying to stop the use of nicotine products. Please note: Nicotine nasal spray will still require prior authorization.
West Virginia Medicaid members can call 1-800-Quit-Now to enroll. As of November, 1, 2024, members will be connected to the new Quit Line Vendor, RVO Health.
