Effective May 3, 2016, WV Medicaid will implement a Drug Utilization Review (DUR) edit that will deny claims for members with prescriptions for more than one concurrent benzodiazepine, sedative hypnotic or agent for sleep. Please consider calling the prescriber for alternative therapies. Should the member require more than one of the agents mentioned above, an edit override may be requested with justification by contacting the Rational Drug Therapy Program (RDTP) by phone to 800-847-3859 or by fax to 800-531-7787.
