Reaching Everyone: Vulnerable Populations and Substance Use Disorder

The panel will bring focus to the African American and LGBTQ Communities as some of their members endeavor to overcome stigma from SUD, enter treatment, and initiate and maintain recovery in West Virginia. We will explore risk factors that affect members of these marginalized communities and assess obstacles to be addressed and overcome. The topic is timely as vulnerable communities deal with mental health, increased substance use and overdoses during the pandemic and this tumultuous period in the country.
