Session 1: Communicating Effectively About Primary PreventionSponsored by WVDHHR Bureau for Behavioral Health, Framing for Impact: Evidence-based Strategies for Effective Communications will be facilitated by trainers from the FrameWorks Institute, a nonprofit communications think tank that conducts research on how to communicate with the public and policymakers about social issues.
This series is ideal for West Virginia prevention and advocacy professionals with an interest in developing substance use messaging that can reach more people and build greater support for effective prevention work in West Virginia.
We will explore (and practice!) strategies that can help you to:
explain primary prevention and social determinants of health
have better conversations about equity
tell data-based stories that are memorable and effective
avoid communications traps, and
