NHL hit by mumps outbreak

dangerous opponent has been lurking in some NHL locker rooms..

As cases of the mumps mysteriously multiply around the league, the Blackhawks have thus far remained uninfected.

Three teams — the Wild, Ducks and Rangers — have had players with confirmed cases of the mumps while the Blues had much of their roster sidelined at various times with what the team described as a bacterial infection that carried many of the same symptoms.
