Local Health Leadership Webinars
In the fall of 2015, the Center for Local Health offered a series of Local Health Department Leadership Lunch and Learn Orientation webinars to help provide guidance and support for local boards of health and health departments specific to the provision of basic public health services. For access to the recorded webinars (presentation, audio, etc.), please click here. The first presentation, West Virginia Basic Public Health Performance Standards, should be especially helpful in providing an orientation to code and rule and the role of the board.
West Virginia Code and Rule

National Association of Local Boards of Health (http://www.nalboh.org/)
The National Association of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH) informs, guides, and serves as the national voice for boards of health. NALBOH worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), other partners, and experts from the field to identify, review, and develop a model of Six Functions of Public Health Governance. This document may be useful in terms of understanding the broader context of board activities. Click here to access a copy of the document.
