Bats: Most bats are healthy. Bats are part of nature and eat mosquitoes and other pests. It is fun and safe to watch bats flying around after sunset. But, some bats do have rabies.

At camp, please tell your counselor if:
  • You see a bat lying on the ground. Don’t touch it. Warn your friends not go near it and tell an adult.
  • You are unsure if you have been bitten (if you woke up because a bat landed on you while you were sleeping o is if you woke up and found a bat in your tent).
  • You were bitten by a bat.
